Meghan Markle Mocked Over Royal Blunder — Called ‘Princess’ in New Message and It Backfires
Meghan Markle’s candid confession about a lockdown hair dye disaster has drawn a playful jab from horror legend Cassandra Peterson — better known as her iconic alter ego, Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.
During an April episode of her podcast Confessions of a Female Founder, the Duchess of Sussex opened up about a beauty mishap she experienced while trying to dye her own hair during lockdown. Speaking to celebrity hair colourist Kadi Lee, Meghan recalled that the at-home attempt left her with hair that was “very inky, almost Elvira-esque black.”

The remark didn’t go unnoticed by the 73-year-old Elvira actress, who took to Instagram to respond with her signature flair. Peterson shared a headline featuring Meghan’s story alongside a glamorous photo of herself in full Elvira costume, adding a smug emoji and the cheeky caption: “Hey princess, if you ever need beauty advice from a queen just let me know.”
The quip was classic Elvira — humorous with just a hint of sass — and quickly gained traction on social media, where fans were amused by the unexpected crossover between gothic camp and royal glam, told GB News.
Meghan’s story offered insight into her transition to California life with Prince Harry during the early months of the pandemic. With salons shut and her usual stylist Serge Normant unavailable, she bravely attempted to dye her own hair.
“I’m gonna look just like she does on the box,” Meghan said she told herself before the mishap.
Eventually, her friend and now-regular stylist Kadi Lee came to the rescue. “You came over. I mean, we were masked and all the things. It was such an interesting time, but I remember that day so well,” Meghan recounted.
While the Duchess hasn’t publicly responded to Elvira’s offer, she’s continued sharing glimpses of her family life in Montecito. In a recent clip, Meghan was seen spending time outdoors with her daughter Lilibet, who was sporting colourful rainbow wellies during a sweet mother-daughter moment near a beehive. The footage, set to the nostalgic tune of “Sugar, Sugar” by The Archies, gave royal watchers a rare peek at Lilibet’s face as Meghan affectionately rubbed her back.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry was in China representing his sustainable travel initiative, Travalyst, at the Envision 2025 Global Partner Conference. Reflecting on the challenge of making long-term impact, he told attendees:
“If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my life, it’s that meaningful change never comes easily. The true measure of our commitment is how we respond when the path becomes difficult. We must never give up.”
