Nigel Farage Mocks Prince Harry in Vegas, Leaves U.S. Audience in Stitches

British politician Nigel Farage took a sharp jab at Prince Harry during a high-profile appearance at the Bitcoin Conference in Las Vegas on Thursday, leaving the crowd in laughter with a quip about Britain’s royal export.

The Reform UK leader was in attendance for Day Three of the major cryptocurrency event, where he announced a new fundraising initiative: his party is now accepting donations in Bitcoin and other digital currencies.

“As of now, provided you are an eligible UK donor (…) we are the first political party in Britain that can accept donations in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies,” Farage said, adding, “Once again, we’re being innovative.”

But it wasn’t just cryptocurrency that had the audience buzzing. Farage drew chuckles from the crowd when he pivoted to a light-hearted swipe at the United States’ influence on global culture — and Britain’s response.

“In my country, we tend to be a little bit behind. America has all the new ideas; they take a few years to cross the pond,” he began. “You send us many good things, and what you’re doing in this space right now, this administration is good. You also send us bad things, because you sent us woke.”

Then came the punchline: “But you know what, we’ve got you back, because we sent you Prince Harry in return, alright?” The joke was met with laughter from the American audience, as Farage smiled and nodded at the reception.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have lived in the United States since early 2020, following their decision to step down as senior working members of the British royal family. The couple now reside in Montecito, California, with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Despite ongoing media scrutiny, Harry has spoken positively about his new life in America. In a conversation with columnist and DealBook founder Andrew Ross Sorkin during The New York Times DealBook Online Summit, Harry shared heartfelt reflections.

“I very much enjoy living here and bringing my kids up here. It’s a part of my life that I never thought I was going to live,” he said. “I feel as though it’s the life that my mum wanted for me.”

He added, “To be able to do the things I’m able to do with my kids that I undoubtedly wouldn’t be able to do in the UK — it’s huge. That is a fantastic opportunity, and I’m hugely grateful for that.”

While Farage’s remarks were clearly meant in jest, they added fuel to the ongoing public conversation about the Duke’s evolving role — and how he’s perceived on both sides of the Atlantic.
