Netanyahu Accuses Keir Starmer of Backing Terrorists in Explosive Rant That Stuns UK
Benjamin Netanyahu has launched a blistering attack on Prime Minister Keir Starmer, accusing him of being “on the wrong side of humanity” and claiming he “wants Hamas in power” in a televised tirade that’s sparked shock and backlash.
The Israeli leader, speaking in a fiery and wide-ranging address to his nation, took direct aim at Starmer, alongside Canada’s Mark Carney and France’s Emmanuel Macron, after all three leaders publicly criticized Israel’s military offensive in Gaza, reported GB News.
“I could never understand how this simple truth evades the leaders of France, Britain, Canada, and others,” Netanyahu said. He didn’t hold back, accusing the trio of effectively siding with Hamas by calling for an immediate ceasefire and threatening sanctions against Israel.
He slammed their support for a two-state solution, saying, “They’re now proposing to establish a Palestinian state and reward these murders with the ultimate prize.” Referring to Gaza, Netanyahu added, “For 18 years, we had a de facto Palestinian state… and what did we get? The most savage slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust.”
He claimed Hamas had publicly thanked Starmer, Macron and Carney for pressuring Israel to halt its campaign, and said, “Hamas was right to thank them.” He argued that by demanding Israel stop its military operations, these leaders were enabling Hamas to “survive, rebuild, and repeat the October 7 massacre again and again.”
Netanyahu didn’t stop there. “When mass murderers, rapists, baby killers, and kidnappers thank you, you’re on the wrong side of justice, you’re on the wrong side of humanity, and you’re on the wrong side of history,” he declared.
He also accused the Western leaders of falling for what he called “Hamas propaganda” — particularly claims that Israel is blocking aid and starving Palestinian children. His comments follow a rising tide of international criticism over the scale of Israel’s military actions and the growing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The tensions between the UK and Israel have already been escalating. Just days before Netanyahu’s outburst, a spokesperson from Israel’s Foreign Ministry, Oren Marmorstein, lashed out at Britain, declaring, “The British Mandate ended exactly 77 years ago. External pressure will not divert Israel from its path in defending its existence and security.”
Following Netanyahu’s comments, Downing Street avoided escalating the row further. When asked directly about the Israeli leader’s accusations, the Prime Minister’s office pointed to earlier statements from Starmer’s spokesman.
That statement reiterated the UK’s position: “We strongly oppose the expansion of Israel’s military operations in Gaza and the restrictions on humanitarian aid. We’ve called for those restrictions to be lifted.”
Asked whether Starmer was concerned Netanyahu’s approach could inflame tensions for British Jews — especially after the recent killing of two British-Israeli nationals in Washington DC — the spokesman responded firmly: “That is a matter for the Israeli Government… none of that provides any excuse for antisemitism or attacks of this kind. It is absolutely heinous and must be stamped out wherever it happens.”
As the war of words deepens and international leaders clash over the path forward in the Middle East, Netanyahu’s accusations against Starmer have only added fuel to a diplomatic fire that shows no signs of cooling.
