Police Launch Urgent Search for Missing Mum and Baby from Coventry Area
West Midlands Police have issued an urgent appeal for information after a 35-year-old mother, identified only as Kirsty, vanished with her baby in the early hours of Tuesday, May 20.
Kirsty, who is from Coventry and has known connections to Birmingham and Solihull, was last seen just after midnight. Authorities believe she may be in one of those areas and are asking the public to help locate her and ensure both she and her child are safe.
The appeal, shared widely by police and local media including CoventryLive, describes Kirsty as wearing a black bodycon dress and blue trainers at the time of her disappearance.
“Have you seen Kirsty, 35, who’s missing with her young baby?” read the statement from West Midlands Police. “Kirsty was last seen in Coventry area, 00:01hrs, 20 May, wearing a black bodycon dress and blue trainers. She has links to Solihull and Birmingham area. Call 999 if you see them, quoting log 36-20/05/25.”
Officers are treating the case as high priority due to the involvement of a young child, and concerns are growing for their welfare. Police have not released further details about the child or the circumstances surrounding Kirsty’s disappearance, but say they are working to locate her as quickly as possible.
The force is asking anyone who may have seen Kirsty or has any information that could assist in tracing her whereabouts to contact emergency services immediately.
The appeal has sparked concern across social media, where users are sharing the information in hopes of aiding the search. The urgency of the call to action—requesting members of the public to dial 999 rather than the usual non-emergency line—highlights the serious nature of the situation.
Authorities continue to follow leads across the West Midlands region, including Birmingham and Solihull, where Kirsty is believed to have strong personal ties. Police have also appealed to Kirsty directly, asking her to get in touch to confirm she and her baby are safe.
As the search continues, the community has been urged to stay alert and report any possible sightings or relevant details, no matter how small they may seem.
Anyone with information should call 999 and quote incident log number 36-20/05/25.
