Trump’s Low Blow: Retaliating Against Chris Christie for Criticizing Ivanka Trump & Jared Kushner

Following Chris Christie’s announcement to challenge Donald Trump for the Republican Party nomination in 2024, the former allies wasted no time engaging in a vicious battle. Christie criticized Trump’s daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner’s alleged questionable finances. In response, Trump resorted to mocking Christie’s weight, resorting to one of the cruelest forms of retaliation.

On Truth Social, Trump belittled Christie’s speech, questioning his repeated use of the word “small” and suggesting a psychological issue with size. He dismissed Christie as a failed governor with low approval ratings, referencing his unpopularity in New Jersey and New Hampshire.

To further demean Christie, Trump shared a photoshopped image of him sitting in front of a buffet on social media. Evidently, Trump did not appreciate being referred to as a “lonely, self-consumed mirror hog.”

The more of dirty politics extends beyond Trump and Christie, as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has also engaged in mudslinging against the former president. The coveted GOP nomination is sought after by all, setting the stage for an ugly and contentious fight to secure it.
